Week 5
Trinity Sunday

Eucharistic
Adoration
In St. Mary’s, Killyclogher.
Each Friday afternoon
from 3pm – 7pm.
‘Come and spend some time in
prayer.’
An honest being-with
Being with a friend
in great pain is not easy. It makes
us uncomfortable. We do not know what
to do or what to say and we worry
about how to respond to what we hear.
Our temptation is to say things that
come more out of our own fear than
out of our care for the person in
pain. Sometimes we say things like,
“Well you’re doing a lot
better than yesterday”, or “You
will soon be your old self again”,
or “I’m sure you will
get over this”. But often we
know that what we’re saying
is not true, and our friends know
it too.
We do not have to play games with
each other. We can simply say: “I
am your friend, I am happy to be with
you.” We can say that in words
or with touch or with loving silence.
Sometimes it is good to say:”You
don’t have to talk. Just close
your eyes. I am here with you, thinking
of you, praying for you, loving you.”

The love of three
Trinity Sunday reminds us that we
are only glimpsing part of a larger
picture.The ‘spirit of truth’
will lead us to the complete truth. We
know instinctively that we are made
for community.We exist because our
birth parents came together and loved
us into existence.No infant survives
without touching and feeding.No adult
lives humanely without human friendship.In
all our grafting and acquiring, we
ultimately build not for ourselves,
but for each other. So, if the love
of two human beings created us, the
love of the divine three-Father, Son
and Spirit will bring us ultimately
home.Celebrate that love today.
The Trinity and the Shamrock
You tell us that there are three
gods and yet one," the puzzled
Irish said when St. Patrick was preaching
the gospel to them in the 5th century
AD. "How can that be?" The
saint bent down and plucked a shamrock.
"Do you not see," he said,
"how in this wildflower three
leaves are united on one stalk, and
will you not then believe that there
are indeed three persons and yet one
God?"
Prayer Before Exams
Dear Father, Source
of all wisdom,
help me to use my time and my intelligence
wisely
as I prepare for exams.
Help me to dispose myself to listen
to your Holy Spirit
so that you, as my loving Father,
may place me in a state of prayer
and lead me to understand
that the supreme wisdom
is knowing I am your child.
Help me to remain serene
so that my work may truly reflect
this profound truth
Mary, Mother of my spiritual life,
guide me in the ways of your Son,
so that my work may help
to transform this world for His glory.
Amen
Praying...and Waiting...and
Patience
Let us ponder for a moment
Life's three seasons:
Praying...and waiting...and patience.
Life's unpredictable seasons.
The season of praying,
When we bring our concerns and worries
And lay them at Jesus' feet.
Crying out for God's help in our time
of need.
The season of waiting,
When our timing is so much different
than God's.
When we think we have waited too long
And yet there is more waiting to be
done.
The season of patience,
When waiting and patience meet.
You cannot have one without the other.
They must go hand-in-hand.
Welcome prayer...and waiting...and
patience
For we know God is teaching us
And using them for our good
To bring about His perfect will for
our lives.
