Trinity
Sunday
Jesus said to his
disciples: "Know that
I am with you always; yes, to the
end of time." What
a wonderful consolation and strength
that promise that Jesus made to us
is for his followers! He is with us
in so many ways - in the Sacraments;
in the Eucharist; in our prayers.
But Jesus is especially with us always
in our love relationships, especially
in marriage and family life. He is
also with us through our parish community.
That is the meaning of being a parish
- a people among whom Jesus lives.
And the wonderful thing is that he
is also present to our world always
through us. We have a serious responsibility
to build our homes and parishes into
real living communities of faith and
love so that Jesus can bring salvation
to our world and so that our God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit may be
praised and glorified.
Fr. Johnny
Doherty, C.Ss.R.

Trinity

Deuteronomy 4: 32-34, 39-40
Moses reminds the people of the close
and loving relationship God established
with them, and of the obligation and
blessings that flow from such a relationship
Second Reading

Through the in-dwelling of the Holy
Spirit, we have become children of
God, and co-heirs with Christ his
Son.
Gospel Matthew
28: 16-20
In his last appearance to his apostles,
Jesus commissions them to preach the
Gospel to all peoples, and promises
to be with them to the end of time.

Summer
Schedule for Weekend Masses.
As most of you are aware we are a
priest down in Cappagh at the moment
and as the summer period approaches
we will be down one more as one or
the other will be on holiday. With
this in mind the Parish Priest has
decided to introduce a new summer
weekend schedule to make it possible
to cover the Masses in this situation.
Starting on
weekend June 27th / 28th the following
schedule will come into action.
There will only be
one Vigil Mass in the parish and this
will be at 7.00 pm in Christ the King.
The Masses for Sunday
will be Christ the King at 12 noon,
Killyclogher will have Masses at 9.00
am and 11.00 am.
Knockmoyle and Mountfield
are unchanged i.e. Knockmoyle at 10.30am
and Mountfield at 10.00am.
The weekday Masses
on Tuesday and Thursday in Christ
the King will also be discontinued
during the summer months.
This programme will
continue over the summer months until
the changes in September when we will
learn if Fr. Sweeney is coming back
and if not, will he be replaced. At
that juncture we will study the situation
again and settle on a permanent timetable
which we hope will suit everyone.
To mark
the 25th anniversary of Christ the
King School a Mass will be celebrated
in Christ the King Church on Sunday
14th June at 12 noon. Most Rev. Bishop
Hegarty will preside at the Mass.
This Mass will last no longer than
the normal noon Mass. Refreshments
will be served in Christ the King
School after Mass. Everyone very welcome.
