Parish of Cappagh Child Protection

Following a request from the Irish Bishops that all Dioceses and Parishes in Ireland should put in place appropriate arrangements for Child Protection, an Information session for priests, sacristans, adult members of parish choirs, church liturgy leaders and volunteers was held on 25th April 2007.

At this meeting a Child Protection Policy Statement was agreed and draft Procedures and Code of Conduct were discussed. As a further part of the consultation process copies of the draft document are now posted on Church notice boards, on the Parish website (www.cappaghparish.com) and in Church porches.

Prayer Before Exams

Dear Father, Source of all wisdom,
help me to use my time and my intelligence wisely
as I prepare for exams.
Help me to dispose myself to listen to your Holy Spirit
so that you, as my loving Father,
may place me in a state of prayer
and lead me to understand
that the supreme wisdom
is knowing I am your child.
Help me to remain serene
so that my work may truly reflect
this profound truth
Mary, Mother of my spiritual life,
guide me in the ways of your Son,
so that my work may help
to transform this world for His glory.

Amen

Praying...and Waiting...and Patience
Let us ponder for a moment
Life's three seasons:
Praying...and waiting...and patience.
Life's unpredictable seasons.
The season of praying,
When we bring our concerns and worries
And lay them at Jesus' feet.
Crying out for God's help in our time of need.
The season of waiting,
When our timing is so much different than God's.
When we think we have waited too long
And yet there is more waiting to be done.
The season of patience,
When waiting and patience meet.
You cannot have one without the other.
They must go hand-in-hand.
Welcome prayer...and waiting...and patience
For we know God is teaching us
And using them for our good
To bring about His perfect will for our lives.
