Parish News
(Vol.32 No 42) - 12th October 2008

Many are called but few are chosen.
"Everything
is ready. Come to the wedding."
I have been at several weddings again
this year and it strikes me that no
matter how many you go to they are
always great occasions. You never
get tired of them. That's what Jesus
wants for us as his people - that
we would be wedding people, joyful,
happy, and celebrating. In response
to his word this week make a special
effort to bring this sense of joy
to one another, as this is a vital
way to practise our faith. This is
particularly important in our homes
so that all who live there may know
the wonder of God's love. It takes
a real effort on the part of everyone
to constantly create this sense of
gladness but it is well worth the
effort. It is also so important in
the parish community to develop this
sense of freedom for one another so
that others can come to know how much
they are loved.

Doherty, C.Ss.R.

Rally
for Life
There is a Rally
for Life taking place at Stormont
Parliament Buildings, Belfast, on
Saturday 18 October, at 1.00 pm.
As you may be aware
a group of Westminster MPs have put
forward a proposal to extend the 1967
Abortion Act to Northern Ireland,
despite strong opposition from local
people, politicians in Northern Ireland
and churches. It is possible that
a vote may take place as early as
October.
The Rally for Life
event is supported by a coalition
of pro-life groups and has been sponsored
at Stormont by the Chairman and the
Vice-Chairman of the All Party Pro-Life
Group of the Northern Ireland Assembly
- Rt. Hon. Jeffrey Donaldson MP MLA
(DUP) and Mr. Pat Ramsey MLA (SDLP).
If you would like
a place on the coach which is leaving
from Omagh Bus Depot at 9.30 am to
Stormont, please call : 82245631 or
82248479.
Bishop Hegarty’s
Parish Visit to Mountfield

On behalf of the priests of the parish
I wish to offer a sincere thank you
to all those who made last Sunday
such a wonderful occasion.
To Bishop Hegarty
for the beautiful Mass and for the
blessing of the graves, to those who
helped organise the liturgy for the
Mass and the graveyard ceremony. A
special word of thanks to all those
in St. Brigid’s Primary School
who provided tea and refreshments.
Finally we wish to thank Theresa and
Stanley for the work they put in to
have the church looking so well for
the occasion.
