THE FOLLOWING ARE A FEW PASTORAL PROGRAMMES WHICH WE WILL BE INITIATING OVER THE COMING MONTHS:

 

CATHOLICISM SERIES: Catholicism Series is a groundbreaking presentation of what Catholics believe and why. The DVD Series is presented by Fr Robert Barron, Professor of Theology in Chicago. This is not a lecture series, but is a documentary style presentation of the Catholic faith filmed in 50 locations throughout 15 countries. The Catholicism Series reveals the truths of the Catholic Faith in a visually breathtaking and compelling way, with original, high-definition cinematography. Fr Barron journeys with those who participate in the programme in an engaging and interesting way, using the art, architecture, literature, music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition to illuminate the timeless teachings of the Church. As we begin to use the Catholicism Series we hope that it will guide all who participate in it to a deeper understanding of the Catholic Faith. Over the coming weeks we will be training people in the parish to facilitate this series. BAPTISM PROGRAMME: We will be inviting people from the parish to form a Baptism Preparation Team, who will guide, accompany and offer support to parents presenting their children for baptism. The team will receive formation and training in the coming weeks. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Fr McElhennon or Fr Gormley.

RCIA: The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for initiation into the Catholic Church for those people (adults and children) who have not been baptised, have been baptized in a different Christian tradition, or who have been baptised Catholic and have not received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. Three people from our parish have received training to coordinate RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This has come in response to the number of adults seeking baptism and initiation into the Catholic Church.
